PIJAC (now operating as Pet Advocacy Network), founded in 1971, represents the experience and expertise of the responsible pet care community to legislative and regulatory bodies, promoting animal wellbeing and responsible pet ownership across the industry. Their real, documented standards of care — developed with pet industry leaders, animal care experts, and veterinarians — extend directly to how a responsible pet retailer should actually operate.
This course applies that same responsible-pet-care standard to the retail floor: species-appropriate product guidance, understanding product categories across this catalog’s full range, health and safety product recommendations, recognizing when a product question needs veterinary referral, ethical selling practices, and building genuine customer trust. This course does not grant an official PIJAC/Pet Advocacy Network credential itself — it uses their real industry standards as a grounded foundation for genuine, honest retail advising.
