Since 1969, the National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA) has advanced professionalism and education in the pet grooming trade. Their National Certified Master Groomer® (NCMG) program — endorsed by the American Kennel Club — represents the pinnacle of professional recognition, tested through both practical skills exams and written exams across major breed groups (Non-Sporting, Sporting, Long-Legged Terriers, Short-Legged Terriers).
This course draws on that same professional standard to build real grooming competency: coat types and breed-specific handling, bathing and drying technique, clipping and scissoring fundamentals, nail and ear care, handling anxious or difficult pets safely, and running a professional, hygienic grooming practice. This course does not grant the official NCMG credential itself — it uses that professional framework as a grounded foundation for real grooming skill.
