Field Scenario
During a training session, a dog begins showing whale eye and stiff posture, but the owner doesn’t notice anything unusual and wants to continue.
What You Actually Do
- Recognize these signals as early signs of stress requiring an adjustment to the session
- Explain clearly to the owner what these specific signals mean and why they matter
- Slow down, reduce pressure, or take a break rather than continuing to push forward
- Treat body language literacy as a core professional skill the owner may not have developed yet
