Job Overview
As a Pet Store Associate, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers. You’ll assist pet owners in selecting food, treats, toys, grooming supplies, and other pet essentials while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining an organized, welcoming store environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, has a passion for pets, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide exceptional customer service.
- Help customers select the right products based on their pets’ needs.
- Recommend pet food, treats, toys, grooming supplies, and accessories.
- Answer questions about pet nutrition, pet care, and product features.
- Process purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Receive, stock, and organize merchandise.
- Maintain clean, attractive product displays and store shelves.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking.
- Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and safe.
- Support promotional events and seasonal product displays.
- Follow company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset.
- Passion for pets and animal care.
- Friendly, positive, and professional attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer and cash register experience preferred.
