What You Actually Do
- Refer to the emergency plan and contacts established before this situation arose
- Contact the pet’s veterinarian or an emergency animal poison control resource
- Continue attempting to reach the owner while taking appropriate immediate action
- Stay calm and follow the established plan rather than improvising under pressure
