Field Scenario
A customer switched their dog’s food abruptly and is now dealing with digestive upset, wondering if the new food is simply a bad fit.
What You Actually Explain
- Abrupt food switches commonly cause digestive upset, independent of whether the new food itself is a good fit
- Recommend transitioning back gradually, mixing the new food with the old over a week or more
- Explain that this doesn’t necessarily mean the new food is a poor choice
- Note that persistent symptoms despite a proper gradual transition would warrant veterinary evaluation
