What You Actually Do
- Recognize this as a genuine warning sign worth taking seriously, not something to wait out
- Contact the owner promptly to report the observation and discuss next steps
- Be prepared to seek veterinary care if the owner authorizes it or the situation seems urgent
- Document what was observed and when for clear communication
