Field Scenario

A normally gentle dog appears to have an injured leg after a fall and snaps unexpectedly when someone reaches to examine it.

What You Actually Explain

  • An injured, frightened pet may bite out of pain or fear, even if normally gentle
  • Approach and handle the pet cautiously, recognizing this as a normal, expected response to injury
  • Avoid attempting to realign or splint the injury without proper training
  • Minimize movement of the injured limb and seek professional veterinary evaluation
